What about that?

After feeding thousands of pictures in a bulk upload orgy the last several days to my po installation, this would be very, very handy to localize dupes and nuke them. To free at least a few of the 25Gigs, the repository needs now.

Hmm. This should be pretty easy to add, but I do wonder at its general usefulness.

I've added it to the "general text" search, svn r474. Adding it to the advanced search is more complex, but I'll take care of that before I close the ticket.

It'll be folded into the next PO release, or you can grab the patch (or -stable tree) out of subversion.

This was fast, thank you. Of course, a special case. But, shouldn't one be prepared? I think, in a database search it should be possible to search for _any_ available information. You'll find a case someday. Regards, Eckhard

Yes, it should be possible to search for any available info, but only in the "advanced" search; each field you add slows down the search.

I have a few search improvements in the pipeline too, but updating the advanced search to allow any database field would be a good idea.

When I get that implemented, the "filename" search will go away from the general search to keep it as fast as possible.
