DetailsWith some difficulty I managed to install po 2.35 on Ubuntu 8.04 server. Now it is working fine. then I tried to install it again on Ubuntu 8.04 running on VMWare workstation on an XP host. As far as I can determine the ubuntu systems are the same. To install po I had to edit the install.php a bit but in the end it did install. But now it seems that the login forms are not working. I put a lot of print statements in the login.php and as far as I can determine the Login Form is not working as a Form. It does not pick up any values entered and the buttons also do not pick up an "operation". I do not know php at all, but my tentative conclusion is the php forms are not working. I tried both Firefox and Opera browsers.
I have used VMWare Workstation for years and I never had such problem. Any suggestions for further troubleshooting ?? |

Far more likely than a completely broken release is that you have something wrong with your PHP installation.
Look in /var/log/httpd/error_log (or wherever ubuntu puts the logs) and see if there are any errors.
