I have two files here, generated by photoshop, with special ISO8859-1 characters.

We need to be able to convert all of these strings into a UTF-8 format for DB insertion.

Will there be a fix for 2.35 stable or should I wait for 2.36?

It's not a critical bug for me. I'm using PO for several month and the first time I got this error was last weekend (after scanning a few pictures with ps and saved it with special local characters in the file name.

There's no fix for this yet -- I've been swamped with other work, unfortunately. And every thing I've tried so far breaks correct UTF-8 imports...

When I get this fixed, I'll backport it (if practical) -- but it's actually the main blocker for 2.36 right now.
